When will you despatch my order?

We try our best to post out orders the day we get them (or the next working day if you order on an evening or weekend). At busy times it can take us 2 or 3 days to get your order processed and into the post. Once we have shipped them the time they take to arrive will depend on which delivery option you chose.

How long does delivery take?

Standard shipping in the UK can take up to 5 days to deliver after we ship.

How much is delivery?

Currently, we only ship to the UK but we're looking to offer international shipping soon. Shipping starts at £2.40 and is calculated based on weight. 

Can I cancel my order?

You can cancel your order at any time before your order is dispatched, unfortunately, once your order is dispatched we cannot cancel the order but you will be able to return!

What do you do with my data?

We keep your name, address and contact details like phone and email on our system to help us provide you with a better service and deal with any problems you might have with your order or products. We may use the email address you give us to contact you if there is a problem with your order, but we don't send marketing emails.

When you visit our website, we use third-party services from Google Analytics and Facebook to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out such things as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not provide Google or Facebook with any of the personal data that you provide to us.

We will not share your information with any third parties for the purposes of direct marketing. We will share your information with the companies that help us provide our services to you, such as delivery companies. These companies will only use the information we give them for the purpose of fulfilling the service you have requested.

We do not store any payment details or credit card details you use for your purchase - that's all securely handled by the payment providers we use. If you ever want us to get rid of the personal information you've given us please just contact us using the details below and we'll be happy to do so.

The Japan Story is a family run business with half the family still based in Japan and the other half in Scotland. We are a registered Scottish company. Our registration number is SC691446.
